About Fattoria Sardi Le Cicale Toscana Rosato
For a long time, rosé wine has been unjustly underestimated, considered by some as a less serious option compared to red and white wines. Fortunately, in recent years, this perception has changed dramatically. Today, rosé wine is more fashionable than ever, and it is not just a passing trend, but the result of advancements in its production and the efforts of wineries to enhance its quality. It is no longer just about summer wines or light consumption; nowadays, many rosés possess a depth of flavour and a structure that can rival renowned reds and whites. Moreover, rosé has become a true champion of versatility at the table. Its freshness, acidity, and smoothness make it ideal for pairing with a wide range of dishes. One of the wineries famous for its rosés is Fattoria Sardi, a family project located in the town of Lucca, in the northwest of Tuscany (Italy), which has managed to stand out for the exceptional quality of its wines. Under the direction of Mina Samouti and Matteo Giustiniani, a couple who met while studying oenology in Bordeaux, Fattoria Sardi has become a benchmark in the production of natural wines that respect the traditions of the Tuscan terroir through ecological and biodynamic practices.
One of their flagship wines is Fattoria Sardi Le Cicale Toscana Rosato, a rosé made from the syrah and vermentino varieties from their own estate. Vines planted on sandy and clayey soil and cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles. The harvest is manual and, once in the winery, the grapes macerate for a short period and are then pressed pneumatically. The obtained must ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine ages for 8 months in oak barrels on fine lees.
The result is Fattoria Sardi Le Cicale Toscana Rosato, an elegant and well-structured rosé that captures the essence of the Tuscan terroir and reflects the meticulous and sustainable approach of Fattoria Sardi. Elegance, freshness, and versatility that confirm why rosé is more fashionable than ever.
