About Destinos Cruzados As Regadas
Destinos Cruzados As Regadas is a red wine produced by the Destinos Cruzados winery in the D.O. Rías Baixas with the Mencía, Espaldeiro and Brancellao varieties.
Destinos Cruzados was started as a dream of the owner and sommelier at the DeTapaEnCepa restaurant Óscar Cidanes and the prestigious Albariños winemaker Marcial Dorado. When they were presented with the opportunity to make their own wines on an estate near the Miño river (Pontevedra) with strains aged between 30 and 50 years old, they jumped at the chance and embarked on this project that champions native wines produced in a traditional way.
Destinos Cruzados Pousada comes from strains between 20 and 30 years old, planted on granite sand soils, 250 metres above sea level and trained using the arbour system. They use artisan cultivation methods and no pesticides or herbicides are used. The grape is harvested manually when it reaches optimum ripeness.
The whole grape is taken to the winery with the stems, which are left on. It is traditionally crushed in a concrete press and macerated for 7 days. Alcoholic fermentation of Destinos Cruzados As Regadas is carried out in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. However, malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak barrels. It is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels.
Destinos Cruzados As Regadas is a red wine from the land of whites that enjoys the acidity, character and personality of the Rías Baixas.
