About Colosía Oloroso

Colosia Oloroso is a fortified wine produced under the D.O. Jerez by Bodegas Gutiérrez Colosia, situated in the Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz.  

The winery was founded back in 1838 and is situated at the mouth of the River Guadalete, on the Bay of Cadiz. The location of the winery is perfect for the production of wines, with the dry Levant wind and the humidity of the Atlantic offer an ideal self-regulation of humidity.

Colosia Oloroso is made exclusively with the Palomino Fino grape variety. This wine is made the traditional way, fortified up to 18%, undergoing only and oxidative ageing. Ageing in the barrel lasts for 5 years, where the wine is oxidised and made more complex, resulting in a wine with aromatic notes of dried fruit and wood.
