About Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village
It would be a sin to go to Burgundy (in east-central France) and not taste even one of its wines. To prevent this from happening, there are usually different wine routes to follow. Among them, the best known is the Route des Grands Vins, also known as the Champs Elysées of Burgundy. This itinerary, where you can taste 24 of the 33 great Burgundy wines, begins in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the north of the Côte de Nuits. Right here, at the entrance to paradise, Albert Bichot produces Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village.
In this land, north of the Côte d'Or, there is only room for pinot noir. And Albert Bichot has decided to make this area part of the 105 hectares he currently manages. If it is famous for anything, the Gevrey-Chambertin AOC is famous for its fine and elegant red wines with body and tenacity. This is mainly due to its limestone soils, rich in calcium, which are mixed with clays and loams. A whole festival of soils, where the mixture of materials is abundant.
Fully biodynamic and environmentally friendly, Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village ferments in thermoregulated conical oak vats for 28 days. Shortly after, this wine will be aged for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels (some of them new).
Albert Bichot is one of the great names in French viticulture. And of course there’s nothing better than being there at the gates of paradise itself, waiting with a glass of Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village.
2018 | Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village 2018 is a full-bodied, ruby-coloured, fresh and bright red wine. The nose is intense, with aromas of red fruits, black fruit, oak and spices. The palate is silky, robust and tannic. Well balanced and fruity. Rich and juicy finish. |
